Election Day is Tuesday November 6, 2007

The polls are open from 6:30am to 7:30pm.

Voter Registration

All U.S. citizens who will be 18 years of age or older on or before the day of election are eligible to vote if registered at least 30 days prior to the election. Contact the Hamilton County Board of Elections office or web site (click below) for more information.

Absentee/Vote by Mail

Any qualified Ohio voter may request an absentee ballot without stating a reason. The ballot must be applied for in writing. If you are properly registered to vote, you must submit your written request to the board of elections of the county in which your voting residence is located. Your request must contain certain information (discussed below) and your original signature.

Absentee voting begins October 2, 2007, 35 days before Election Day.

How to Request a Ballot

Ballots may be requested by writing a letter to the address above or submitting an Absentee Ballot application.

A letter must include: voter name, residential address, telephone number, address where ballot should be sent (if different than residential address), date of birth and one of the following:

a) driver's license number;
b) last four digits of your social security number;
c) a copy of your current valid photo id or a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document that shows your name and address.

The letter must be signed. Absentee application forms are also available from the Board or you can download the form from Hamilton County Board of Elections. Letters and applications can be mailed to the Hamilton County Board of Elections, 824 Broadway, Cincinnati, OH 45202; faxed to: 513/744-9038.

Once a voter receives the ballot; it can be voted and must be returned to the Board by mail or in person no later than 7:30pm on Election Day.

Please note: Extra postage may be needed when mailing completed absentee ballots. If you are unsure of the postage cost, please check with your local office of the U.S. Postal Service.
